All those endless hours of surgery, Carolina waited. She knows that Dr. Grey would alert her the moment it was done but there's a part of her that can't bear to leave when she knows York would have stayed for her and had stayed for her after Eta and Iota had sent her into a coma. Leaving would have felt too much like a betrayal. In the end she sent Epsilon with Tucker so that he wouldn't keep pointing out that she was acting like a woman obsessed. She already knew there was nothing she could do from the waiting room but she kept her vigil all the same.
The waiting taught her that Armonia's hospital needed a much better coffee supply because the stuff she was drinking had a consistency like tar and would probably strip the bulletproof coating from most armor. It also kept her wired and probably explained how Dr. Grey always seemed so perky. All it does for Carolina is set her teeth on edge and give her a reason to pace the waiting room.
The moment Dr. Grey appears Carolina is on her feet and walking over to her. She wouldn't be this happy if it was a failure, right?

"Did it work? Is she going to recover?"
Right??
